These terms apply to every vehicle rental agreed with Visarcar in Tangier. They supplement the contract signed when you collect the vehicle, which prevails in the event of any discrepancy.
Driver requirements
The main driver, and any additional driver named on the contract, must meet the following conditions when the vehicle is collected.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a valid driving licence obtained more than 2 years ago.
- Present a valid ID card or passport.
- For licences not in the Latin alphabet, an international driving permit is required.
- Any driver not named on the contract voids the insurance cover.
Booking and payment
Bookings are made by phone, WhatsApp or through the contact form, and are confirmed by us once availability has been checked.
Payment is due when the vehicle is collected, in dirhams, by cash or card. Prices shown on this site are in dirhams, inclusive of tax.
Deposit
A deposit is taken when the vehicle is collected and refunded in full on return, subject to the condition of the vehicle and the absence of any recorded offence.
The amount depends on the vehicle category and is confirmed to you before the contract is signed.
Duration, mileage and fuel
- A rental day is 24 hours from the time of departure.
- One hour of grace is allowed on return; beyond that, an extra day is charged.
- Mileage is unlimited within Morocco.
- The vehicle is supplied at a given fuel level and must be returned at the same level, failing which the difference is charged.
Insurance and liability
All our vehicles carry third-party insurance, with the cover detailed on our Insurance page. An excess remains payable by the renter in the event of an at-fault claim.
- Damage to tyres, wheels, underbody and glass may be excluded from the basic cover.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs voids all cover.
- Fines and penalties remain the responsibility of the renter.
Use of the vehicle
The vehicle may not, under any circumstances, be used for:
- Subletting, or carrying people or goods for payment.
- Competitions, testing or driving tuition.
- Towing another vehicle.
- Travel outside Morocco without prior written permission.
- Driving on unmade tracks, except for 4x4 vehicles with prior agreement.
Breakdown, accident and assistance
In the event of a breakdown, accident or theft, contact us immediately. Our assistance operates 24/7 throughout Morocco.
After an accident, a joint report must be completed and a declaration filed with the authorities within 24 hours. Otherwise cover may be refused.
Cancellation
Any booking may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before collection. After that, one day of rental may be retained.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Moroccan law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of Tangier.
